The Axolotls
- Though often called the "Mexican Walking Fish", it was also found in parts of Japan and china. Also, it isn't even a fish, rather, an Amphibian Aquatic Salamander.
- The Cause of their unusual shapes are because of a species condition called neoteny that lets then keep their larvae traits such as their dorsal fins and external gills that rise up above its head.
- They are closely related to the tiger salamander, being able to grow up to a foot in length although the average size is around half of that.
- They are typically black or brown but albino and white kinds are also common.
- Axolotls live up to 15 years on a diet of worms and other axolotl eggs.
